Staff at the Library Help Desks are available to support you with a wide range of enquiries, including:

  • how to find, evaluate and use the best information sources for your studies and research
  • how to improve your academic skills
  • borrowing materials
  • general information about library services

Please remember to take along any study notes, reference lists, assignment drafts or topics, or unit outlines that might assist them to answer your questions effectively.

IT Helpdesks

IT Helpdesk Lab Advisors

How they can help

IT Helpdesks counters are located within central computer labs located on the each of the three Brisbane QUT campuses. They provide assistance with:

  • QUT network services (eg QUT Virtual)
  • desktop software and applications within the central computer labs
  • wireless device configurations and queries
  • support for external students
  • the Assignment Minder service.

Individual Academic Skills Consultations

Academic Skills Advisors

How they can help

Students requiring further assistance in developing their study skills may be asked to make an appointment with an Academic Skills Advisor. They provide personalised assistance and can help you improve your academic skills in a number areas including:

  • assignment preparation
  • academic writing
  • time management
  • exam preparation, and much more

Note: you must be referred by a Librarian, Peer Advisor, Lecturer, Disability Advisor or Counsellor to access this service.
